our Approach

We work with organisations that exist to make a difference and we believe that impact models should be at the core of them. And everything else — their structure, programs, projects, etc — should be based on these models.

But rarely is this the case. Organisations are often built around general topics or, even worse, influenced by fleeting management trends or dominant personalities.

Our approach has developed in response to this. To help nonprofits and public sector organisations get back to their roots – to understand deeply the change they are trying to create and select an intervention that has an actual chance of succeeding. And only then change their organisation, plan a project, build a network, start a coalition, change the world.

SOUNDS GOOD?

HOW WE WORK

SPACE

We create an atmosphere where people are willing to discuss difficult topics, be honest and make meaningful decisions together.

COHERENCE

We make sure your strategy flows clearly from the fundamental impact model to concrete actions.

PROCESS

We design and facilitate processes that not only lead to clear strategies, but also get people excited to act on them.

STEP-BY-STEP

OUR PROCESS

We work on many different kinds of projects – organisational development, building international coalitions, regional cooperation, EU projects etc. And with each of them we tailor-make a unique process. But there is a general logic we usually employ as a “backbone”.

THE PROBLEM
We believe that all mission-driven organisations (and other initiatives) should have a deep systematic understanding of why the problem they are trying to solve exists and persists.
THE SOLUTION
Based on the deep understanding of the problem, a realistic systematic intervention - the impact model - can be designed.
THE ORGANISATION
Based on the impact model a system of execution can be imagined - an organisation, a network, a project consortium etc. This means identifying the competencies required to achieve impact, the supporting functions, structure, size and all else.
THE CHANGE PLAN
By comparing the current situation to the desired "ideal", we can identify what needs to change — and then prioritise the most important developments.
THE BEYOND
Everything that has come before is just planning - but it is clear that without enthusiastic and capable execution, nothing really happens. That's why we also help leaders figure out what exactly they need to do (and how we can support them) to execute the plans.
